“The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why.”

- Mark Twain This weekend, we attended the Tiny House Jamboree in Colorado Springs, Colorado and it was incredible. We learned so much about the joys and the hardships of building a tiny house and how important it is to follow your dreams. We met so many amazing people and found so much community in such a short amount of time that we can’t feel anything other than gratitude. We still haven’t fully digested everything but it looks like we may be getting our house sooner than expected. On day two, we attended Kai Rostcheck’s panel on the Tiny House Tribe and during the panel discussion, they asked the audience what our plans were after our house is built and what community looks like for us. I got up and said that we plan on creating a non-profit for GLBTQ youth that are homeless or at risk of being homeless and help them build their own tiny homes. I received a round of applause before I was even done speaking and when I went back to my seat, a community gathered around us asking for more information, how they could help, how they can donate, and James Taylor, one of the panelists, came over to me and said, “This needs to happen and we need to get you into your house as soon as possible.” So after talking a bit more and processing everything, we will be establishing the non-profit first and then from there, we will be able to get enough sponsorship and assistance to build our house and take it on the road and help build the non-profit from there.

We are so excited and so incredibly grateful to everyone that want to go on this journey with us. We’re on our way home.
